| Tuanku Mizan Leads Endurance Challenge |
SETIU, May 24 (Bernama) -- Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Saturday led the challenge in the second circuit of the Malaysian Endurance Championship at the Terengganu International Endurance Park in Lembah Bidong near here.
His Majesty, who has already qualified for World Endurance Championship 2008, which will be held at the same venue in November, is participating in the 160km race.
Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said said the event, organised by the National Sports Institute, was part of the six circuits before the WEC 2008.
"A total of 13 riders including His Majesty are taking part in the 160km endurance expected to finish around 1pm Sunday," he told reporters after witnessing the flagging off of the race by Terengganu Regency Advisory Council president, Tengku Baderulzaman Sultan Mahmud.
Apart from the 160km endurance, the championship, which offers total prize money of RM50,000, also has races over 40km, 80km and 120km.
